SWORDSWALLOWER

is an action platformer that I made mostly as a solo dev with some help on the art. You can listen to the soundtrack in context above or hear the tracks individually to the right.

Most of the songs are in a gothic post-rock style that's atypical of fantasy games. I wanted to create and aesthetic that would be unique among other fantasy games but still match the fast-paced gameplay and moody narrative. The music ended up being probably the most well-received aspect of the game.

K155

is a short film I did music and sound design on. The video is a selection of a few key moments.

The film's narrative involves a composer creating microsound pieces. Microsound is an experimental genre where extremely quiet sounds are amplified to the point of being unreocgnizable.

In the film, the microsound pieces represent the real, textural world, but all of them eventually dissolve into more traditional OST to signify the transition into the main character's dream world.

The film takes place in the late 70s, so I created most of the soundtrack from analog synths and samplers to recreate the feel of that era's electronic music.

FATED FOLK

is an unreleased puzzle game by Rowan Wood I'm making music and sound for. I tried to capture the narrative in this theme, which is about a group of lost clones trying to find their way home. Fated Folk's gameplay is more trial-and-error than sitting and thinking, so I could make a song that was more driving and emotional than typical puzzle game music.

EVERRACE

is a roguelike racer I'm working on, still very early in development. You play on an infinite, constantly shifting racetrack, so making something cyclical and relentless but not exhausting was important. I emulated my favorite 90s dnb soundtracks but combined them with modern textures and tried to make them feel more human. I'm approaching this project a bit like a playable album.

FOR RYUICHI

is a classical piece for solo piano that I wrote when Ryuichi Sakamoto died. It's going to appear in my current, still-unannounced game.

I have a lot of solo classical piano and guitar music, as well as hundreds more demos that might find homes in different projects.

RE[MAP]

is a multiplayer action game by Spencer Pilarski I made the music for. This is the menu theme. I wanted to create something simple with a lot of momentum that would make players excited to jump in. The game's style is reminiscent of flash games, so I aimed to create an aesthetic that felt like a modern-day updated version of 8-bit NES era soundtracks: DIY but polished.
